British architecture is a rich tapestry woven over centuries, reflecting the island nation's history, culture and evolving tastes. The architecture in Britain is wide and varied with many different types of materials used, often all in the same location. Many modern towns still boast buildings of real character, some of which need a lot of searching for, but it's the British villages which often best show some of the most notable historical buildings. As award winning designers, we would always like to design buildings of merit but we realise that the client may want something different so we will always work towards your dream building, although we are prepared to tell you if we think an idea will look awful. Some architects will ignore the brief, we have had clients come to us after asking their architect to design them an oak building and the drawings have been produced in steel & glass ! Some architects also do not understand the implications of bespoke designs, whilst it may be perfectly possible to make an 8m clear span in oak, sourcing an oak beam big enough is very difficult and is certainly not going to be cost effective.
Always ask us if you want a bespoke building design.
